Who was---or is Jesus Christ? Christians worship him as God. But the President of American Atheists, Ellen Johnson, claims Jesus didn’t exist. Others say Jesus was an imposter. The Da Vinci Code postulates Jesus was as a great man whose deity was invented by the 4th century Church.
Y-Jesus examines the questions that are being asked by both skeptics and believers: Does the latest evidence refute or affirm the picture of Jesus Christ given to us in the New Testament? And is there any evidence for the claim that he rose from the dead?
"God promised this good news about his Son ahead of time through his prophets in the holy scriptures. His Son was descended from David. He was publicly identified as God’s Son with power through his resurrection from the dead, which was based on the Spirit of holiness. This Son is Jesus Christ our Lord."-Romans 1:3-4 CEB
Jesus, was born as the son of man; born human in the lineage of David. He was revealed to the world as the son of God through His resurrection, because death had no power over Him. Since He lives, those who are united with Him through faith in Him, cannot be bound by death. Only Jesus can free us from the bondage of sin that leads to eternal death, because only He has risen from the dead. Because He has bound the strong man (Mark 3:27), we do not have to wrestle with the strong man anymore, we just have to enter through the door open for us by Jesus and receive our eternal salvation. What a wonderful news to be shared with all!
He paid the price, bought me and set me free. My past miseries, pain and rejection have no hold over me, this world and all its pleasures cannot tie me down, regret, guilt and shame cannot hold me back. My Jesus waits for me at the finish line, waiting for me to join Him and I will press forward, eyes fixed on Him.
People who are unaware of this freedom are bound in their own ideas and beliefs that cannot save them. They may be free in this physical realm. But are not free in the spiritual realm. They may think that we have not committed crime to be bound in prison; they may be righteous in their own eyes. But God sees and knows each one's heart, what's hidden inside the depth of his heart, his motives. Jesus said, even if you sin only in your heart and not physically harmed anyone, it is still a sin and you're separated from God. And you are sinning everyday knowingly and unknowingly in your hearts. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light (Matthew 6:22). Sin is like a toxin or cancer that can corrupt your mind, body and soul. He doesn't want you to perish. He wants to give you eternal life and make you whole.
Those who believe in Jesus must continually align their lives to God's word. They need to wear the armor of God(Ephesians 6:10-18) to stand against all evil. When believers deviate from His word, they will be confronted by the Holy Spirit to set the course right. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
Seek Him, possess Him and never let go.
Do not look at the flaws of this world, it is flawed because of sin. Do not look at the imperfect people, people in authority, not even the believers of Christ. Only Jesus is perfect!
You do not get the real taste of an apple by tasting rotten ones. Nor do you condemn the tree that bore few rotten fruits.
Come, taste and see that the Lord is good.
He loves you immensely and promises you an abundant Life! Receive it and soak in it!
