Make Your Marriage A Success by Myles Munroe

I absolutely loved this sermon and I wish I had heard this years ago.
The gist of the sermon is that, to have a healthy society you need to produce a healthy family and to have a healthy family you have to have a successful marriage.

Marriage is God's institution and the oldest institution in the entire Universe. Every Man and woman should prepare well, gain knowledge, understanding and wisdom before they get married. Not to satisfy your lusts or to fulfill all your needs from the other, but to create a healthy family and a healthy society.

Husbands should be in God's presence and his wife should meet him there. The success of the marriage lies mainly with the husband as long as he is in God's presence. Husband is responsible for the family's well-being; he is the source and sustainer of the family. That's why a man leaves his father and mother and cleaves with his wife. Beautiful mystery reiterated time again by God in the bible. Most men don't get God's message about Marriage. They either pick bible verses that suit them and omit the rest. Or try in their own strength to work it out, thinking this could be the key that will keep the couple together, and when it doesn't work they give up. Very few seek Godly counsel. Some of those who seek counsel, will reject the counsel, because they have to step out of their comfort zones. And few go to wrong people for counseling.
What a Disaster!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the husband and wife meets everytime in God's presence and assume HIS likeness. Then spread HIS glory in their home and around. It'll be heaven on earth. It's not a fairy tale or not doable. All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me, and if we are vigilant of Holy Spirit's counsel. Amen!

Blame It On The Weatherman

An interesting game called the Blame game

Scene: Garden of Eden, Adam & Eve disobeys God's command

God asked Adam, What have you done?
Adam answered, the woman you put me up with deceived me and I ate the forbidden fruit

God asked Eve, What have you done?
Eve answered, the serpent you put in this garden deceived me and I ate the forbidden fruit

God asked Serpent, What have you done?
Serpent answered, Lucifer whom you chased from Heaven deceived me and I gave the forbidden fruit to Eve

God asked Lucifer, What have you done?
Lucifer answered, I was angry with you that you made Man more important that me

God asked Himself, What have I done?
Jesus answered, Don't worry Dad, I will go and rectify, even if it means my life.

It is Finished, so lets stop blaming. :-)

How long has it taken for you to enter the Promised Land?

Have you wondered why it took 40 years for the Israelite's to reach the Promised land? As a young Christian, I never understood certain things from the bible and considered them as mythical.
40 years to travel 240 miles by foot? hmmm...isn't that a short distance that can be covered in few days or max a month given all the stop overs for rest.

Whose mistake was it
I thought God was taking them round and round. But if we re-read, it is the Israelites who refused to enter the promised land. They preferred slavery in Egypt than obeying God. I guess the Israelites had got used to the lives they were leading in Egypt than going to a new place(Canaan) which were filled with giants. I would say both places don't look good in terms of the adversaries they'd have to face. But in one God's hand is there. The land promised to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the land flowing with milk and honey sounds more inviting.

I guess, we are in some ways like frogs in the well, refusing to see the big picture because of being closed minded.

Who is Jesus?

A 6th century mosaic of :en:Jesus at Church Sa...Image via Wikipedia

For those skeptics, cynics and new believers who need historical facts to evaluate Jesus's existence,
Scholars examine the facts:

Who was---or is Jesus Christ? Christians worship him as God. But the President of American Atheists, Ellen Johnson, claims Jesus didn’t exist. Others say Jesus was an imposter. The Da Vinci Code postulates Jesus was as a great man whose deity was invented by the 4th century Church.

Y-Jesus examines the questions that are being asked by both skeptics and believers: Does the latest evidence refute or affirm the picture of Jesus Christ given to us in the New Testament? And is there any evidence for the claim that he rose from the dead?

Find out answers to these questions from Y-Jesus

Who is Jesus? Based on God's Word

"God promised this good news about his Son ahead of time through his prophets in the holy scriptures. His Son was descended from David. He was publicly identified as God’s Son with power through his resurrection from the dead, which was based on the Spirit of holiness. This Son is Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 1:3-4 CEB

How can you be Saved?

"It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God. "- Ephesians 2:8

You cannot purchase salvation through your good deeds, charity, new age thinking, spirituality of this world or by not stepping on each other's toes. The price of your salvation is paid by Christ. He purchased your freedom from sin and bondage through His sacrifice.

Romans 14:9 - "Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead."

There is no one perfect or without sin. You sin everyday in your thoughts, in your words and actions.

Romans 3:23 - "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard."

But why do you need Christ and need saving and from what you may think?

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."

Sin separates you eternally from God, where there is no hope, joy, peace nor freedom.

Why Jesus?

Why Jesus? By Nicky Gumbel

What's it all about?

Relationships are exciting. They are the most important aspect of our lives - our relationships with our parents, boyfriend or girlfriend, husband or wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and so on.

Christianity is first and foremost about relationships rather than rules. It is about a Person more than a philosophy. It is about the most important relationship of all: our relationship with the God who made us. Jesus said that the first and greatest commandment is to love God. The second is to love our neighbour. So, it is also about our relationships with other people.
